New Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Station Opens in Dunedoo

An electric vehicle (EV) charging station has officially opened in Dunedoo, marking a significant step toward advancing sustainable transportation in the region. The station, located at the Dunedoo Bowling Club, will provide essential charging services for locals and for EV owners traveling along the major routes in Central Western New South Wales. It is ideally placed between Newcastle and Dubbo and will provide additional incentive for travellers to stop and stay for a while in Dunedoo, boosting local businesses.

The installation of the charging station was a partnership project between Three Rivers Landcare, Dunedoo, the Dunedoo Bowling Club, ACEN Australia and the NSW Government EV Destination Charging Grants which are an initiative to expand EV charging infrastructure across regional areas, ensuring that drivers have easy access to reliable charging facilities, no matter where they are.

“We’re excited to bring this charging infrastructure to Dunedoo, making electric vehicle travel more accessible for residents and visitors,” said Sam Abbott from Dunedoo Bowling Club. “The charging station, is open 24/7, providing round-the-clock access to locals and travellers alike.”

Local businesses and residents are expected to benefit from increased foot traffic and the positive environmental impact that comes with supporting the transition to electric vehicles. This new facility in Dunedoo will also help support the growing trend of EV adoption across rural Australia. As the demand for clean, sustainable transportation continues to grow, this new EV charging station is a vital step in creating a greener, more connected future for our community.
